WHY SHOULD MY BABY SEE A CHIROPRACTOR?

From pregnancy through to birth and those first precious months, your baby’s body goes through a lot. Even in the most natural deliveries, small amounts of strain can occur, which may affect your baby’s neuromusculoskeletal (NMSK) system — including their nerves, muscles, joints, and spine.

The forces during birth (natural or c-section) place a lot of pressure and strain on your baby’s body. Even before birth, factors such as your baby’s position in the womb (breech position, multiple pregnancies or limited space, etc.) may contribute to areas of tension. After birth, everyday activities (feeding positions, sleeping, time in car seats or minor bumps and falls, etc.) can also play a role.

While these stresses are often subtle, they can influence your baby’s comfort, movement and development.

Signs Your Baby May Benefit from Chiropractic Care:

  • Excessive or inconsolable crying
  • Ongoing fussiness or irritability
  • Noticeable body tension (arched back, stiff limbs, clenched fists)
  • Difficulty settling or calming down
  • Reluctance with tummy time or developmental milestones
  • Feeding difficulties
  • Sleeping difficulties (frequent waking, short unsettled sleep periods, restless, noisy, etc.)
  • Clinginess or distress when seperated from parent

HOW CAN CHIROPRACTIC CARE HELP?

Chiropractic care for babies focuses on gently relieving tension, supporting natural movement and helping their little bodies function as they should. Using light, age-appropriate techniques, we aim to address the underlying cause of discomfort — not just the symptoms — to support healthy development and overall wellbeing.

Chiropractic care isn’t only about easing discomfort — it’s also about prevention and supporting your baby’s growth and balance from the very beginning.

Because when your baby feels comfortable - they can grow, develop and thrive!

WHEN SHOULD MY BABY SEE A CHIROPRACTOR?

At ORTHOlifestyle we recommend regular checkup and treatment sessions for your baby - soon after birth (within 8 weeks) and at 4, 6, 9, 12 and 18 months of age. Your chiropractor will work out a treatment protocol relevant to your baby's needs.
